The small and elegant Thuparama Dagaba is to the north of the Ruwanweli.
- Ruwanweli is the oldest in Sri Lanka and contains the collarbone of the Buddha.
- Thuparama Dagaba is built by King Devanampiyatissa in the third century.
- It is in the ‘paddy – heap ‘shape, and it was altered to the ‘bell ‘shape in restoration.
- The collarbone of the Buddha was installed inside the dagaba.
