President Obama Visited Buddhist Temples in Thailand and Burma

  • U.S. President Barack Obama made official visits to Thailand, Burma and Cambodia in November 2012, He visited two revered Buddhist temples, which were Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Burma, and the Wat Pho Royal Monastery of Bangkok, Thailand.
  • The Temple of Reclining Buddha,  was the first place, President Barack Obama's visited in Asia . 
  • Obama straight from the airport after arriving in Bangkok on Sunday came to the temple, a smiling Obama waved from the backseat of his car.
  • President Obama visited a 2,000 year old Buddhist pagoda in Burma, where he took an experience of Buddhist tradition of bathing a Buddha statue.
  • Obama followed the traditional custom, as he took off his shoes and a saffron-robed monk led him.
