Thuparama Dagaba

The small and elegant Thuparama Dagaba is to the north of the Ruwanweli.

• Ruwanweli is the oldest in Sri Lanka and contains the collarbone of the Buddha. 
• Thuparama Dagaba is built by King Devanampiyatissa in the third century.
• It is in the ‘paddy – heap ‘shape, and it was altered to the ‘bell ‘shape in restoration. 
• The collarbone of the Buddha was installed inside the dagaba.
